Recent upgrades - summer 2014 hauled out for routine checks and maintenance, re-corked bottom and topsides planks and seams, as needed, completed major bulwarks repair, new bottom paint and zincs, repainted fore deck, topsides, bulwarks and hull, new cutlass and strut bearings installed (port and starboard), new batteries for 12 volt system, accommodations enjoy entry to the gracious salon or sit awhile at the aft deck, enjoying the view from the covered seating/dining area. Once inside you will find a saloon and pilothouse offering an open plan with excellent all-round vision for enjoying the sights and for safe vessel operation. This area is relaxed and comfortable in feel yet nautical and purposeful. The wheel house is the center of command and offers excellent visibility. A skipper will appreciate the safe bulkwarks, excellent and secure space on deck, and the burly anchor handling tackle. There is also a large lazarette aft as well as stairs to the upper dock for tender storage and handling. Stepping down from the salon forward you will find steps to the lower level. Guest cabins are both to starboard with shared full head directly to port/across the hall. Step forward into the galley and lounge area where meals are prepared in the chef's galley and served in a convivial style. There is a large skylight in this area. The dining salon and galley are two distinct spaces, each light and airy with it's own hatch. The dining salon has spacious cupboards and a buffet while in the galley you will find abundant storage for food, the existing service for 12 and other galley equipment. Stepping forward you encounter the pantry and port and starboard crew bunks. Forward of this is the walk-in chain locker. Aft of the saloon is the entirely private master stateroom with twin bunks and a private head with shower. There are port and starboard hanging closets and shelving as well as opening ports and a butterfly skylight. The head height is 7' in this area. The layout aboard norwester offers many private settings for smaller groups to congregate and the main salon and wheel house to function as the center for enjoyable time underway.
